بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 185
1 verseAl-Baqarah 185
شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذ۪ٓي اُنْزِلَ ف۪يهِ الْقُرْاٰنُ هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدٰى وَالْفُرْقَانِۚ فَمَنْ شَهِدَ مِنْكُمُ الشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُۜ وَمَنْ كَانَ مَر۪يضًا اَوْ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ اَيَّامٍ اُخَرَۜ يُر۪يدُ اللّٰهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُر۪يدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَۘ وَلِتُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا اللّٰهَ عَلٰى مَا هَدٰيكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ١٨٥
Mushaf
Transliteration
185Şehru rameḍane-lleẕî ünzile fîhi-lḳurʾânü hüdel linnâsi vebeyyinâtim mine-lhüdâ velfürḳân. femen şehide minkümü-şşehra felyeṣumh. vemen kâne merîḍan ev ʿalâ seferin feʿiddetüm min eyyâmin üḫar. yürîdü-llâhü bikümü-lyüsra velâ yürîdü bikümü-lʿusr. velitükmilü-lʿiddete velitükebbirü-llâhe ʿalâ mâ hedâküm veleʿalleküm teşkürûn.
English Translation
185It is the month of Ramadan in which the Quran was revealed—a guide to the right path for people, carrying the proofs of this guidance, which distinguishes right from wrong and makes it plain. So whoever of you reaches that month should fast during it. And whoever is ill or on a journey should fast the same number of other days in place of the days missed. Allah wants ease for you, not hardship. He wants you to complete the number and to glorify Allah with takbir for having shown you the right path, so that you may give His blessings their due.
