بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 253
1 verseAl-Baqarah 253
تِلْكَ الرُّسُلُ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍۢ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ كَلَّمَ اللّٰهُ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَهُمْ دَرَجَاتٍۜ وَاٰتَيْنَا ع۪يسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَاَيَّدْنَاهُ بِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِۜ وَلَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ مَا اقْتَتَلَ الَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَٓاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ وَلٰكِنِ اخْتَلَفُوا فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ اٰمَنَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ كَفَرَۜ وَلَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ مَا اقْتَتَلُوا وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يُر۪يدُ۟ ٢٥٣
Mushaf
Transliteration
253Tilke-rrusülü feḍḍalnâ baʿḍahüm ʿalâ baʿḍ. minhüm men kelleme-llâhü verafeʿa baʿḍahüm deracât. veâteynâ ʿîse-bne meryeme-lbeyyinâti veeyyednâhü birûḥi-lḳudüs. velev şâe-llâhü me-ḳtetele-lleẕîne mim baʿdihim mim baʿdi mâ câethümü-lbeyyinâtü velâkini-ḫtelefû feminhüm men âmene veminhüm men kefer. velev şâe-llâhü me-ḳtetelû velâkinne-llâhe yefʿalü mâ yürîd.
English Translation
253These messengers—We made them distinct from one another through certain qualities. Allah spoke to some of them and raised others in rank. We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with Ruh al-Qudus (Gabriel). Had Allah willed, those who came after them would not have killed one another after clear proofs had come to them. But they fell into disagreement: some of them believed, and some chose disbelief.
