بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 240
1 verseAl-Baqarah 240
وَالَّذ۪ينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ اَزْوَاجًاۚ وَصِيَّةً لِاَزْوَاجِهِمْ مَتَاعًا اِلَى الْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ اِخْرَاجٍۚ فَاِنْ خَرَجْنَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ ف۪ي مَا فَعَلْنَ ف۪ٓي اَنْفُسِهِنَّ مِنْ مَعْرُوفٍۜ وَاللّٰهُ عَز۪يزٌ حَك۪يمٌ ٢٤٠
Mushaf
Transliteration
240Velleẕîne yüteveffevne minküm veyeẕerûne ezvâcâ. veṣiyyetel liezvâcihim metâʿan ile-lḥavli gayra iḫrâc. fein ḫaracne felâ cünâḥa ʿaleyküm fî mâ feʿalne fî enfüsihinne mim maʿrûf. vellâhü ʿazîzün ḥakîm.
English Translation
240Those of you who die and leave wives behind should have made a bequest of maintenance for their wives for up to a year, without their being turned out of their homes. But if the women leave of their own accord, you bear no responsibility for what they do with themselves in a fitting manner. Allah is mighty and decides rightly.
