بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 143
1 verseAl-Baqarah 143
وَكَذٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ اُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَٓاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَه۪يدًاۜ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الْقِبْلَةَ الَّت۪ي كُنْتَ عَلَيْهَٓا اِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَنْ يَتَّبِعُ الرَّسُولَ مِمَّنْ يَنْقَلِبُ عَلٰى عَقِبَيْهِۜ وَاِنْ كَانَتْ لَكَب۪يرَةً اِلَّا عَلَى الَّذ۪ينَ هَدَى اللّٰهُۜ وَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيُض۪يعَ ا۪يمَانَكُمْۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَؤُ۫فٌ رَح۪يمٌ ١٤٣
Mushaf
Transliteration
143Vekeẕâlike ceʿalnâküm ümmetev veseṭal litekûnû şühedâe ʿale-nnâsi veyekûne-rrasûlü ʿaleyküm şehîdâ. vemâ ceʿalne-lḳiblete-lletî künte ʿaleyhâ illâ linaʿleme mey yettebiʿu-rrasûle mimmey yenḳalibü ʿalâ ʿaḳibeyh. vein kânet lekebîraten illâ ʿale-lleẕîne hede-llâh. vemâ kâne-llâhü liyüḍîʿa îmâneküm. inne-llâhe binnâsi leraûfür raḥîm.
English Translation
143We have made you a balanced community, so that the Messenger may be a witness and model for you, and you may be witnesses and models for humanity. We made the qibla you now face only to distinguish those who follow the Messenger from those who turn on their heels—although this is hard except for those who follow the right path Allah has shown. Allah will never let your earlier worship and your faith go to waste. Allah is most compassionate and merciful toward people.
