لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ اِنْ طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَٓاءَ مَا لَمْ تَمَسُّوهُنَّ اَوْ تَفْرِضُوا لَهُنَّ فَر۪يضَةًۚ وَمَتِّعُوهُنَّۚ عَلَى الْمُوسِعِ قَدَرُهُ وَعَلَى الْمُقْتِرِ قَدَرُهُۚ مَتَاعًا بِالْمَعْرُوفِۚ حَقًّا عَلَى الْمُحْسِن۪ينَ ٢٣٦
Mushaf
Transliteration
236Lâ cünâḥa ʿaleyküm in ṭallaḳtümü-nnisâe mâ lem temessûhünne ev tefriḍû lehünne ferîḍah. vemettiʿûhünn. ʿale-lmûsiʿi ḳaderuhû veʿale-lmuḳtiri ḳaderuhü. metâʿam bilmaʿrûf. ḥaḳḳan ʿale-lmuḥsinîn.
English Translation
236There is no sin on you if you divorce women before touching them or setting their mahr. Provide for them in a fitting manner—the wealthy according to their means and the poor according to theirs. This is a duty befitting those who do good.
