بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 258
1 verseAl-Baqarah 258
اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذ۪ي حَٓاجَّ اِبْرٰه۪يمَ ف۪ي رَبِّه۪ٓ اَنْ اٰتٰيهُ اللّٰهُ الْمُلْكَۢ اِذْ قَالَ اِبْرٰه۪يمُ رَبِّيَ الَّذ۪ي يُحْي۪ وَيُم۪يتُۙ قَالَ اَنَا۬ اُحْي۪ وَاُمِيتُۜ قَالَ اِبْرٰه۪يمُ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَاْت۪ي بِالشَّمْسِ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ فَاْتِ بِهَا مِنَ الْمَغْرِبِ فَبُهِتَ الَّذ۪ي كَفَرَۜ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِم۪ينَۚ ٢٥٨
Mushaf
Transliteration
258Elem tera ile-lleẕî ḥâcce ibrâhîme fî rabbihî en âtâhü-llâhü-lmülk. iẕ ḳâle ibrâhîmü rabbiye-lleẕî yuḥyî veyümîtü ḳâle ene uḥyî veümît. ḳâle ibrâhîmü feinne-llâhe yeʾtî bişşemsi mine-lmeşriḳi feʾti bihâ mine-lmagribi febühite-lleẕî kefer. vellâhü lâ yehdi-lḳavme-żżâlimîn.
English Translation
258Have you not seen the one who, grown insolent because Allah had given him kingship, argued with Abraham about his Lord? Abraham said, "My Lord is the One who gives life and causes death." He said, "I too cause death and give life." When Abraham said, "My Lord brings the sun from the east; so you bring it from the west!" that disbeliever was left dumbfounded. Allah does not let the transgressing wrongdoers attain their aims.
