بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 234–235

وَالَّذ۪ينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ اَزْوَاجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِاَنْفُسِهِنَّ اَرْبَعَةَ اَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًاۚ فَاِذَا بَلَغْنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ ف۪يمَا فَعَلْنَ ف۪ٓي اَنْفُسِهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَب۪يرٌ ٢٣٤
Mushaf
Transliteration
234Velleẕîne yüteveffevne minküm veyeẕerûne ezvâcey yeterabbaṣne bienfüsihinne erbeʿate eşhüriv veʿaşrâ. feiẕâ belagne ecelehünne felâ cünâḥa ʿaleyküm fîmâ feʿalne fî enfüsihinne bilmaʿrûf. vellâhü bimâ taʿmelûne ḫabîr.
English Translation
234The wives left behind by those of you who die shall wait by themselves for four months and ten days. When they have completed their term, there is no sin on you for what they do with themselves in a fitting manner. Allah is aware of what you do.
