بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ

وَاِذْ اَخَذْنَا م۪يثَاقَ بَن۪ٓي اِسْرَٓاء۪يلَ لَا تَعْبُدُونَ اِلَّا اللّٰهَ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ اِحْسَانًا وَذِي الْقُرْبٰى وَالْيَتَامٰى وَالْمَسَاك۪ينِ وَقُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا وَاَق۪يمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَۜ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ اِلَّا قَل۪يلًا مِنْكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ ٨٣
Mushaf
Transliteration
83Veiẕ eḫaẕnâ mîŝâḳa benî isrâîle lâ taʿbüdûne ille-llâhe vebilvâlideyni iḥsânev veẕi-lḳurbâ velyetâmâ velmesâkîni veḳûlû linnâsi ḥusnev veeḳîmu-ṣṣalâte veâtü-zzekâh. ŝümme tevelleytüm illâ ḳalîlem minküm veentüm müʿriḍûn.
English Translation
83We took a covenant/pledge from the Children of Israel: "Serve none but Allah. Be good to your mother and father, to close relatives, to orphans, and to the needy. Speak kindly to people, perform the prayer, and give the zakat!" Then, except for a few of you, you went back on your word, and you still keep going back on it.
