بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 264
1 verseAl-Baqarah 264
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تُبْطِلُوا صَدَقَاتِكُمْ بِالْمَنِّ وَالْاَذٰىۙ كَالَّذ۪ي يُنْفِقُ مَالَهُ رِئَٓاءَ النَّاسِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِۜ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ صَفْوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ تُرَابٌ فَاَصَابَهُ وَابِلٌ فَتَرَكَهُ صَلْدًاۜ لَا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلٰى شَيْءٍ مِمَّا كَسَبُواۜ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِر۪ينَ ٢٦٤
Mushaf
Transliteration
264Yâ eyyühe-lleẕîne âmenû lâ tübṭilû ṣadeḳâtiküm bilmenni velʾeẕâ kelleẕî yünfiḳu mâlehû riâe-nnâsi velâ yüʾminü billâhi velyevmi-lʾâḫir. femeŝelühû kemeŝeli ṣafvânin ʿaleyhi türâbün feeṣâbehû vâbilün feterakehû ṣaldâ. lâ yaḳdirûne ʿalâ şeyʾim mimmâ kesebû. vellâhü lâ yehdi-lḳavme-lkâfirîn.
English Translation
264O you who believe, do not nullify your charity with reminders and hurt, like the man who spends his wealth to show off to people while not believing in Allah and the Last Day. His case is like that of a rock with a little soil on it: a heavy downpour falls and leaves it bare. Such people gain nothing from what they have earned. Allah does not let the disbelieving people reach their goal.
