بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 49–54
6 versesAl-Baqarah 54
وَاِذْ قَالَ مُوسٰى لِقَوْمِه۪ يَا قَوْمِ اِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ اَنْفُسَكُمْ بِاتِّخَاذِكُمُ الْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُٓوا اِلٰى بَارِئِكُمْ فَاقْتُلُٓوا اَنْفُسَكُمْۜ ذٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ عِنْدَ بَارِئِكُمْۜ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْۜ اِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّح۪يمُ ٥٤
Mushaf
Transliteration
54Veiẕ ḳâle mûsâ liḳavmihî yâ ḳavmi inneküm żalemtüm enfüseküm bittiḫâẕikümü-lʿicle fetûbû ilâ bâriiküm faḳtülû enfüseküm. ẕâliküm ḫayrul leküm ʿinde bâriiküm. fetâbe ʿaleyküm. innehû hüve-ttevvâbü-rraḥîm.
English Translation
54Recall when Moses said to his people, "O my people! You have wronged yourselves by taking the calf as a god. So turn in repentance to your Creator at once and kill the evils within your selves. Doing so is better for you in the sight of your Creator; then He will accept your repentance, for He is the One who accepts repentance abundantly, the Merciful."
