بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِۜ قُلْ ف۪يهِمَٓا اِثْمٌ كَب۪يرٌ وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِۘ وَاِثْمُهُمَٓا اَكْبَرُ مِنْ نَفْعِهِمَاۜ وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنْفِقُونَۜ قُلِ الْعَفْوَۜ كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّٰهُ لَكُمُ الْاٰيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَۙ ٢١٩
Mushaf
Transliteration
219Yesʾelûneke ʿani-lḫamri velmeysir. ḳul fîhimâ iŝmün kebîruv vemenâfiʿu linnâs. veiŝmühümâ ekberu min nefʿihimâ. veyesʾelûneke mâẕâ yünfiḳûn. ḳuli-lʿafv. keẕâlike yübeyyinü-llâhü lekümü-lʾâyâti leʿalleküm tetefekkerûn.
English Translation
219They ask you about intoxicants that cloud the mind, and about gambling. Say: "In them is great sin and some benefits for people. But their sin is greater than the benefit they bring." They ask you what they should spend. Say: "What is beyond your needs/What you can do without." Thus Allah makes the verses clear to you, so that you may reflect.
