بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 28–34
7 versesAl-Baqarah 30
وَاِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلٰٓئِكَةِ اِنّ۪ي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْاَرْضِ خَل۪يفَةًۜ قَالُٓوا اَتَجْعَلُ ف۪يهَا مَنْ يُفْسِدُ ف۪يهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَٓاءَۚ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَۜ قَالَ اِنّ۪ٓي اَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٣٠
Mushaf
Transliteration
30Veiẕ ḳâle rabbüke lilmelâiketi innî câʿilün fi-lʾarḍi ḫalîfeh. ḳâlû etecʿalü fîhâ mey yüfsidü fîhâ veyesfikü-ddimâʾ. venaḥnü nüsebbiḥu biḥamdike venüḳaddisü lek. ḳâle innî aʿlemü mâ lâ taʿlemûn.
English Translation
30Recall when your Lord said to the angels, "I am going to appoint a vicegerent/ruler on earth." The angels said, "Will You appoint as vicegerent/ruler one who will cause corruption on earth and shed blood, while we constantly glorify You with praise and proclaim Your holiness?" Allah said, "I know what you do not know."
