فَرِحَ الْمُخَلَّفُونَ بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلَافَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ وَكَرِهُٓوا اَنْ يُجَاهِدُوا بِاَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاَنْفُسِهِمْ ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ وَقَالُوا لَا تَنْفِرُوا فِي الْحَرِّۜ قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ اَشَدُّ حَرًّاۜ لَوْ كَانُوا يَفْقَهُونَ ٨١
Mushaf
Transliteration
81Feriḥa-lmüḫallefûne bimaḳʿadihim ḫilâfe rasûli-llâhi vekerihû ey yücâhidû biemvâlihim veenfüsihim fî sebîli-llâhi veḳâlû lâ tenfirû fi-lḥarr. ḳul nâru cehenneme eşeddü ḥarrâ. lev kânû yefḳahûn.
English Translation
81Those who stayed behind and sat at home instead of answering the call of His Messenger, who conveys Allah's messages, were pleased with this, and had no liking at all for fighting in Allah's way with their wealth and their lives. They even discouraged others, saying, "Do not go out to fight in this heat." Say: —The fire of Hell is hotter still; if only they could grasp this!
