بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 89–90
2 versesAn-Nisa 90
اِلَّا الَّذ۪ينَ يَصِلُونَ اِلٰى قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ م۪يثَاقٌ اَوْ جَٓاؤُ۫كُمْ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُهُمْ اَنْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ اَوْ يُقَاتِلُوا قَوْمَهُمْۜ وَلَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ فَلَقَاتَلُوكُمْۚ فَاِنِ اعْتَزَلُوكُمْ فَلَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ وَاَلْقَوْا اِلَيْكُمُ السَّلَمَۙ فَمَا جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سَب۪يلًا ٩٠
Mushaf
Transliteration
90İlle-lleẕîne yeṣilûne ilâ ḳavmim beyneküm vebeynehüm mîŝâḳun ev câûküm ḥaṣirat ṣudûruhüm ey yüḳâtilûküm ev yüḳâtilû ḳavmehüm. velev şâe-llâhü leselleṭahüm ʿaleyküm feleḳâtelûküm. feini-ʿtezelûküm felem yüḳâtilûküm veelḳav ileykümü-sseleme femâ ceʿale-llâhü leküm ʿaleyhim sebîlâ.
English Translation
90But do not touch those who take refuge with a people with whom you have a treaty, or those who come to you distressed at heart, not wishing to fight either you or their own people. Had Allah willed, He would have set them upon you, and they would have fought you. If they leave you alone, do not fight you, and offer you peace, then Allah has given you no authority against them.
