بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ

يَسْـَٔلُكَ اَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ اَنْ تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَابًا مِنَ السَّمَٓاءِ فَقَدْ سَاَلُوا مُوسٰٓى اَكْبَرَ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ فَقَالُٓوا اَرِنَا اللّٰهَ جَهْرَةً فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْۚ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذُوا الْعِجْلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَٓاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَنْ ذٰلِكَۚ وَاٰتَيْنَا مُوسٰى سُلْطَانًا مُب۪ينًا ١٥٣
Mushaf
Transliteration
153Yesʾelüke ehlü-lkitâbi en tünezzile ʿaleyhim kitâbem mine-ssemâi feḳad seelû mûsâ ekbera min ẕâlike feḳâlû erine-llâhe cehraten feeḫaẕethümu-ṣṣâʿiḳatü biżulmihim. ŝümme-tteḫaẕü-lʿicle mim baʿdi mâ câethümü-lbeyyinâtü feʿafevnâ ʿan ẕâlik. veâteynâ mûsâ sülṭânem mübînâ.
English Translation
153The People of the Book ask you to bring down to them a book from the sky. Yet they had asked Moses for something greater than this and said, "Show us Allah plainly." Because of this wrongdoing of theirs, the thunderbolt struck them. After clear proofs had come to them, they worshipped the calf statue. Even so, We forgave them after that, and We gave Moses clear proof and power.
