English Translation
176They ask you for a ruling (fatwa). Say: "Allah gives you the ruling concerning kalala (a person who has no first-degree heirs). If a person dies having no child and has a single sister, half of what he leaves goes to her. If a sister dies and has no child, the brother takes all her inheritance. If there are two sisters, two-thirds of the inheritance is theirs. If the heirs are brothers and sisters, a male receives a share equal to that of two females." Allah makes this clear to you, lest you err. Allah knows all things.
