بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 19
1 verseAn-Nisa 19
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمْ اَنْ تَرِثُوا النِّسَٓاءَ كَرْهًاۜ وَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ لِتَذْهَبُوا بِبَعْضِ مَٓا اٰتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ اِلَّٓا اَنْ يَاْت۪ينَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُبَيِّنَةٍۚ وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِۚ فَاِنْ كَرِهْتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسٰٓى اَنْ تَكْرَهُوا شَيْـًٔا وَيَجْعَلَ اللّٰهُ ف۪يهِ خَيْرًا كَث۪يرًا ١٩
Mushaf
Transliteration
19Yâ eyyühe-lleẕîne âmenû lâ yeḥillü leküm en teriŝü-nnisâe kerhâ. velâ taʿḍulûhünne liteẕhebû bibaʿḍi mâ âteytümûhünne illâ ey yeʾtîne bifâḥişetim mübeyyineh. veʿâşirûhünne bilmaʿrûf. fein kerihtümûhünne feʿasâ en tekrahû şeyʾev veyecʿale-llâhü fîhi ḫayran keŝîrâ.
English Translation
19O you who believe! It is not lawful for you to try to inherit women by force. Do not pressure them in order to take back part of what you gave them, unless they commit a clear indecency. Live with them in a good and kind manner; even if you dislike them, it may be that Allah has ordained much good in something you dislike.
