An-Nisa 77

English Translation

77Have you not seen those who were told, "Hold back your hands from fighting, perform the prayer, and give the zakat"? Yet when fighting was commanded for them, a group of them feared the enemy as they fear Allah, or with an even greater fear, and said, "Our Lord, why have You commanded fighting for us? Could You not postpone this command to fight a little longer?" Say: "The pleasure of this world is temporary and very little. The Hereafter is better for those who act responsibly. For you will not be wronged even in the slightest."
