وَلَوْ اَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ اَنِ اقْتُلُٓوا اَنْفُسَكُمْ اَوِ اخْرُجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ مَا فَعَلُوهُ اِلَّا قَل۪يلٌ مِنْهُمْۜ وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوا مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِه۪ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ وَاَشَدَّ تَثْب۪يتًاۙ ٦٦

Transliteration
66Velev ennâ ketebnâ ʿaleyhim eni-ḳtülû enfüseküm evi-ḫrucû min diyâriküm mâ feʿalûhü illâ ḳalîlüm minhüm. velev ennehüm feʿalû mâ yûʿażûne bihî lekâne ḫayral lehüm veeşedde teŝbîtâ.
English Translation
66Had We commanded them, "Sacrifice yourselves," or "Leave your homes!" they would not have done it, except for very few of them. But if they had carried out the admonition given to them, it would have been better for them and firmer in terms of faith.
