بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 8–9
2 versesAl-Mumtahanah 9
اِنَّمَا يَنْهٰيكُمُ اللّٰهُ عَنِ الَّذ۪ينَ قَاتَلُوكُمْ فِي الدّ۪ينِ وَاَخْرَجُوكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ وَظَاهَرُوا عَلٰٓى اِخْرَاجِكُمْ اَنْ تَوَلَّوْهُمْۚ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ ٩
Mushaf
Transliteration
9İnnemâ yenhâkümü-llâhü ʿani-lleẕîne ḳâtelûküm fi-ddîni veaḫracûküm min diyâriküm veżâherû ʿalâ iḫrâciküm en tevellevhüm. vemey yetevellehüm feülâike hümu-żżâlimûn.
English Translation
9Allah forbids you only to take as friends those who have waged war on you because of religion, driven you out of your homes, and supported your expulsion. Whoever takes them as friends and joins with them, it is they who are the wrongdoers who persist in error.
