5Recall when Moses once said to his people: "O my people, why do you torment me, when you know full well that I am Allah's Messenger sent to you?" When they swerved, Allah made their hearts swerve. For Allah does not let those who stray from the right path attain their aims.

7Who could be a greater wrongdoer than one who, though invited to Islam, attributes to Allah the lie he has invented? Allah does not let such fabricators of lies attain their aims.

English Translation

8They want to put out Allah's light/the religion of tawhid (Divine Oneness) with the lies they have invented. Yet Allah will perfect His light/the religion of tawhid, however much these disbelievers may dislike it.

English Translation

9For it is Allah who has sent His Messenger with the religion of truth and the guidance of the right path, to bring the true religion of tawhid fully to light in all its aspects, however much the polytheists, who associate partners with Allah, may dislike it.

14O you who believe! Be supporters of Allah's cause! Just as, when Jesus son of Mary said to his disciples, "Who are my supporters in Allah's cause?", the disciples replied: "We are the supporters of Allah's cause." In the end, some of the Children of Israel believed, and some refused to believe and became disbelievers. But We supported those who believed against their enemies, and so it was they who prevailed.
