يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِنْ دُونِكُمْ لَا يَاْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًاۜ وَدُّوا مَا عَنِتُّمْۚ قَدْ بَدَتِ الْبَغْضَٓاءُ مِنْ اَفْوَاهِهِمْۚ وَمَا تُخْف۪ي صُدُورُهُمْ اَكْبَرُۜ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْاٰيَاتِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ١١٨
Mushaf
Transliteration
118Yâ eyyühe-lleẕîne âmenû lâ tetteḫiẕû biṭânetem min dûniküm lâ yeʾlûneküm ḫabâlâ. veddû mâ ʿanittüm. ḳad bedeti-lbagḍâü min efvâhihim. vemâ tuḫfî ṣudûruhüm ekber. ḳad beyyennâ lekümü-lʾâyâti in küntüm taʿḳilûn.
English Translation
118O you who believe, do not take as friends and confidants those who do not share your religion. For they will do you every harm they can. They wish for you to fall into hardship. Their hatred and anger overflow from their mouths. And the hatred and loathing they conceal within is even greater. We have made the verses clear to you, if you use your reason.
