But We wished to show favor to these people who were oppressed in the land, to make them leaders, and to make them heirs to the land.
We also wished, by strengthening them in this land, to bring upon Pharaoh, Haman, and their armies the very thing they feared.
To this end, We revealed to the mother of Moses: —Nurse him, and if you fear for his life, put him in the river. Do not worry or grieve! For We will return him to you and make him one of the messengers.
Someone from Pharaoh's household found and took up that baby, who would later become an enemy to them and a source of grief. For Pharaoh, Haman, and their armies were making a great mistake in this.

One of the girls said: —Dear father, hire this man as a paid worker/shepherd, for the best, the strongest, and the most trustworthy man you could hire is this man.
The girls' father said: —I wish to marry you to one of these daughters of mine in return for your working for me for eight years; if you make it ten, that will be a kindness from you to us. I do not wish to impose hardship on you. If Allah wills, you will find me one of the righteous, a good man who keeps his word.
Moses said: —Very well, let this be an agreement between us. But whichever of the two terms I complete, there is to be no hostility or injustice toward me. See, Allah is the guarantor of this agreement of ours.

English Translation
When at last Moses had completed the set term and set out with his family, he saw a fire on the right slope of Mount Sinai and said to his family: —Stay here; I have seen a fire. Perhaps I can learn from there the route we should follow, or bring you an ember of fire from it so that you may kindle a fire and warm yourselves.
When Moses reached the place of the fire, a voice called to him from the direction of the tree on the right side of that blessed valley: —O Moses! It is I—I am Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 27/9
—Now put your staff down on the ground! When Moses saw his staff moving like a snake, he turned and fled without looking back. Allah said: —O Moses, come back and do not be afraid! For you are truly safe.
—Now put your hand inside your garment; it will come out dazzling white, without any blemish. Now put away all fear, compose yourself and be calm. These two proofs/miracles are clear evidence given to you by your Lord against Pharaoh and his inner circle. For they have turned out to be a people who have strayed from the path/transgressors.

English Translation
Those against whom the sentence of punishment has come true will say: —Our Lord, these are the ones we led into excess and astray. We led them astray just as we ourselves had gone astray. Now we sever all ties with them and take refuge in You. In fact, they were not really serving us.
And they will be told: "Call on those you associated as partners!" They will call on them, but those will not be able to answer their call, and they will come face to face with the punishment. If only they had followed the right path while in the world!
On that day Allah will call out to them and ask: —What answer did you give to the messages of the messengers?
At that moment their world will go dark, the doors of excuse will close, and they will not even be in a state to ask one another anything.
But as for those who repent, believe, and do good and beautiful deeds, they will certainly be among those who attain salvation.

It is certain that Qarun (Korah) was one of the people of Moses. We had given him such treasures that even their keys alone could barely be carried by a group of strong men. With this power he acted arrogantly toward his people and oppressed them. His people had said to him: —Do not be conceited! For Allah does not love the conceited.
Seek, through all the wealth and property Allah has given you, the ways to earn the abode of the Hereafter, but do not forget your share of this world either! Do good to people, as Allah has been abundantly good to you, and never pursue tyranny and corruption in the land, for Allah does not love those who spread corruption!
Qarun said: —I acquired all this wealth and property only through my knowledge and skill. Did he not know that Allah had destroyed, among the generations before him, many who were stronger and richer than he? Those who have made crime their second nature need no questioning about their sins.
