فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ اُو۬لُوا بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْفَسَادِ فِي الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا قَل۪يلًا مِمَّنْ اَنْجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْۚ وَاتَّبَعَ الَّذ۪ينَ ظَلَمُوا مَٓا اُتْرِفُوا ف۪يهِ وَكَانُوا مُجْرِم۪ينَ ١١٦

Transliteration
116Felevlâ kâne mine-lḳurûni min ḳabliküm ülû beḳiyyetiy yenhevne ʿani-lfesâdi fi-lʾarḍi illâ ḳalîlem mimmen enceynâ minhüm. vettebeʿa-lleẕîne żalemû mâ ütrifû fîhi vekânû mücrimîn.
English Translation
116If only there had been! Among the generations before you, there were sadly no people of reason and awareness who tried to prevent the decay and corruption on earth, except for a small minority whom We saved. As for the majority, sunk in wrongdoing, they were seduced by the allure of luxury and wealth, grew spoiled, and sank into sin.
