Al-Ma'idah 3

3Forbidden to you are: the meat of dead animals (carrion), blood, the flesh of swine, what has been slaughtered in the name of anyone other than Allah, the strangled, the one beaten to death, the one killed by a fall, the one butted or gored to death, and what has been eaten by beasts of prey (except what you reach before it dies and slaughter according to the rule), animals slaughtered in the name of standing stones and things held sacred, and your seeking your lot by divining arrows. These are acts of straying from the religion.(1) Today the disbelievers have given up hope of your religion (of your turning back from it). So do not fear them; fear Me. Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed My blessing upon you, and approved Islam for you as your religion.(2) Whoever is forced by hunger, without inclining toward sin, (may eat of these animals). Allah is forgiving and merciful.
