Al-Ma'idah 6

English Translation

6O you who believe! When you rise for the prayer, wash your faces, and your hands up to the elbows. Wipe your heads, and your feet up to the ankles too. If you are in a state of major ritual impurity (junub), purify yourselves from head to foot. If you are ill or on a journey, or one of you has come from relieving himself, or you have had contact with your wives, and you cannot find water/cannot reach water, then perform tayammum with clean earth/a clean surface, wiping your faces and your hands with it. Allah does not wish to make things hard for you. Allah wishes to purify you and to complete His blessing upon you, so that you may give the blessings their due.
