Al-A'raf 169

English Translation

169After them came a generation who succeeded them and inherited the Book. They would take the passing goods of this world, saying, "We will be forgiven anyway," and would at once seize any similar opportunity that came their way. Yet had not a firm covenant/pledge been taken from them, through the lesson they learned from that Book, that they would say nothing about Allah but the truth? But the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who act responsibly. Do you not use your reason?
