بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ

وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّت۪ي كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ الْبَحْرِۢ اِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ اِذْ تَاْت۪يهِمْ ح۪يتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَۙ لَا تَاْت۪يهِمْۚ كَذٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ ١٦٣
Mushaf
Transliteration
163Vesʾelhüm ʿani-lḳaryeti-lletî kânet ḥâḍirate-lbaḥr. iẕ yaʿdûne fi-ssebti iẕ teʾtîhim ḥîtânühüm yevme sebtihim şürraʿav veyevme lâ yesbitûne lâ teʾtîhim. keẕâlike neblûhüm bimâ kânû yefsüḳûn.
English Translation
163Ask them about what befell the people of the town by the sea! Recall how on the Sabbath, when fishing was forbidden, the fish would flock to the shore, and on other days they would not appear. So the people of that town, out of greed, kept violating the Sabbath prohibition; thus We were testing them because of their straying from the path.
