قَالُوا يَٓا اَبَانَٓا اِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوسُفَ عِنْدَ مَتَاعِنَا فَاَكَلَهُ الذِّئْبُۚ وَمَٓا اَنْتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لَنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صَادِق۪ينَ ١٧
Mushaf
Transliteration
17Ḳâlû yâ ebânâ innâ ẕehebnâ nestebiḳu veteraknâ yûsüfe ʿinde metâʿinâ feekelehü-ẕẕiʾb. vemâ ente bimüʾminil lenâ velev künnâ ṣâdiḳîn.
English Translation
17They said: "O our father! Believe us, we went off a little way to race one another and left Joseph with our belongings. Meanwhile a wolf snatched him and ate him! Now, however truthfully we speak, you still will not believe us!"
