فَلَوْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ اٰمَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَٓا ا۪يمَانُهَٓا اِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَۜ لَمَّٓا اٰمَنُوا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ اِلٰى ح۪ينٍ ٩٨
Mushaf
Transliteration
98Felevlâ kânet ḳaryetün âmenet fenefeʿahâ îmânühâ illâ ḳavme yûnüs. lemmâ âmenû keşefnâ ʿanhüm ʿaẕâbe-lḫizyi fi-lḥayâti-ddünyâ vemettaʿnâhüm ilâ ḥîn.
English Translation
98If only there had been! Sadly, apart from the people of Jonah, there was no community among the peoples of the towns that believed (before Our punishment came) and benefited from its faith. But the people of Jonah believed (before the punishment came upon them), so We lifted from them the punishment of disgrace in this world and let them enjoy the blessings of this world for a while longer.
