بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 17–18
2 versesAl-Anfal 17
فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوهُمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ قَتَلَهُمْۖ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ اِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ رَمٰىۚ وَلِيُبْلِيَ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ مِنْهُ بَلَٓاءً حَسَنًاۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَم۪يعٌ عَل۪يمٌ ١٧
Mushaf
Transliteration
17Felem taḳtülûhüm velâkinne-llâhe ḳatelehüm. vemâ rameyte iẕ rameyte velâkinne-llâhe ramâ. veliyübliye-lmüʾminîne minhü belâen ḥasenâ. inne-llâhe semîʿun ʿalîm.
English Translation
17It was not you who killed them; in truth it was Allah who killed them. (It was Allah who gave you this means and courage.) And when you threw, it was not you who threw; in truth it was Allah who threw. All this He did so that the believers might come through a fine test. Surely Allah hears all and knows all.
