بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 42
1 verseAl-Anfal 42
اِذْ اَنْتُمْ بِالْعُدْوَةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ بِالْعُدْوَةِ الْقُصْوٰى وَالرَّكْبُ اَسْفَلَ مِنْكُمْۜ وَلَوْ تَوَاعَدْتُمْ لَاخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِي الْم۪يعَادِۙ وَلٰكِنْ لِيَقْضِيَ اللّٰهُ اَمْرًا كَانَ مَفْعُولًاۙ لِيَهْلِكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ عَنْ بَيِّنَةٍ وَيَحْيٰى مَنْ حَيَّ عَنْ بَيِّنَةٍۜ وَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَسَم۪يعٌ عَل۪يمٌۙ ٤٢
Mushaf
Transliteration
42İẕ entüm bilʿudveti-ddünyâ vehüm bilʿudveti-lḳuṣvâ verrakbü esfele minküm. velev tevâʿattüm laḫteleftüm fi-lmîʿâdi velâkil liyaḳdiye-llâhü emran kâne mefʿûlel liyehlike men heleke ʿam beyyinetiv veyaḥyâ men ḥayye ʿam beyyineh. veinne-llâhe lesemîʿun ʿalîm.
English Translation
42Recall when you were on the northern slope of the valley, near Medina, and they were on the southern slope, far from Medina, and the caravan was below you, toward the sea. Even if you had made an appointment, you could not have timed it so well and would have fallen into disagreement; but Allah unexpectedly confronted you with battle, so that whoever perished would perish with clear proof, and whoever won would win with clear proof. Surely Allah hears all and knows all.
