بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 1
1 verseAl-Qiyamah 1
لَٓا اُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِۙ ١
Mushaf
Transliteration
1Lâ uḳsimü biyevmi-lḳiyâmeh.
English Translation
1Nothing more need be said: I swear by the Day of Resurrection,

Mushaf
Transliteration
2Velâ uḳsimü binnefsi-llevvâmeh.
3Eyaḥsebü-lʾinsânü ellen necmeʿa ʿiżâmeh.
4Belâ ḳâdirîne ʿalâ en nüsevviye benâneh.
5Bel yürîdü-lʾinsânü liyefcüra emâmeh.
6Yesʾelü eyyâne yevmü-lḳiyâmeh.
7Feiẕâ beriḳa-lbeṣar.
8Veḫasefe-lḳamer.
9Vecümiʿa-şşemsü velḳamer.
10Yeḳûlü-lʾinsânü yevmeiẕin eyne-lmeferr.
English Translation
2and again, nothing more need be said: I swear by the self that beats its breast in remorse.
3Does the human being think that We cannot bring together his bones that have turned to dust?
4On the contrary, We are able to reshape him and restore him to his former state, down to the lines on his fingertips.
5But the human being prefers to spend his life on empty desires and whims.
6And he even goes so far as to mock, saying, "So when is this Day of Resurrection supposed to be?"
7When the eyes roll in fear and terror,
8when the moon is eclipsed and turns pitch black,
9when the moon and the sun merge into one another,
10on that day the human being will struggle desperately, crying, "Is there no place to flee?"

English Translation
11No! On that day there will be no place at all to escape to.
12On that day, all roads will lead to the presence of your Lord.
13And on that day the human being will be told, one by one, what he put first and what he put off.

Transliteration
14Beli-lʾinsânü ʿalâ nefsihî beṣîrah.
15Velev elḳâ meʿâẕîrah.
16Lâ tüḥarrik bihî lisâneke litaʿcele bih.
17İnne ʿaleynâ cemʿahû veḳurʾâneh.
18Feiẕâ ḳaraʾnâhü fettebiʿ ḳurʾâneh.
19Ŝümme inne ʿaleynâ beyâneh.
20Kellâ bel tüḥibbûne-lʿâcileh.
21Veteẕerûne-lʾâḫirah.
English Translation
14In truth, the human being is a watcher over himself. Indeed, on that day he will bear witness against himself,
15even though he may put forward various excuses.
16Do not keep stumbling over your words in panic as you read your record!
17Gathering together all that you did and reading it out to you is Our task.
18So follow along with whatever We have read to you from it.
19Then know that explaining them one by one is also Our task.
20No! In fact, you are deeply attached to this world,
21and you do not take the Hereafter into account at all.

English Translation
22But a day will come when some faces will shine radiantly with joy,
23awaiting the blessings that will come from their Lord.
24And on that day some faces will turn pitch black,
25for they will realize that they are about to be dealt a back-breaking blow.

Transliteration
26Kellâ iẕâ belegati-tterâḳiy.
27Veḳîle men râḳ.
28Veżanne ennehü-lfirâḳ.
29Velteffeti-ssâḳu bissâḳ.
30İlâ rabbike yevmeiẕin-lmesâḳ.
31Felâ ṣaddeḳa velâ ṣallâ.
32Velâkin keẕẕebe vetevellâ.
33Ŝümme ẕehebe ilâ ehlihî yetemeṭṭâ.
English Translation
26No! When the soul comes up to the throat,
27a cry will go up: "Where is the doctor/who can heal?"
28Then he will realize that the hour of parting has come.
29And legs will become entangled with one another.
30On that day he will be dragged and led away to your Lord.
31Yes, he neither affirmed the truth nor turned to his Lord in prayer.
32Rather, he denied the truth and turned his back on his Lord.
33Then he went off to his supporters, swaggering.

39Feceʿale minhü-zzevceyni-ẕẕekera velʾünŝâ.
English Translation
37Was he not a drop of sperm cast into the mother's womb?
38Then he became a small clot, and Allah created him and gave him shape.
39And from it He brought forth the two sexes, male and female.
