English Translation

2As for those of you who divorce their wives by likening them to their mothers, let them know well that those women can never be their mothers. For their mothers are only the women who gave birth to them. So with this comparison they are uttering an ugly and baseless word. Yet Allah is most pardoning and most forgiving.

English Translation

3The penalty for those of you who divorce their wives by likening them to their mothers and then wish to go back on their words is to free a slave before they have relations with their wives. For Allah is aware of all that you do.

English Translation

4But whoever does not find the means for this, his penalty is to fast for two consecutive months. And the penalty for one who cannot manage this either is to feed sixty poor people. These rulings are a test of the sincerity of those who believe and trust in Allah and His Messenger, who conveys Allah's messages. These are the limits Allah has set; and for those who violate these limits there is a painful punishment.

7Do you not see that Allah is aware of everything that happens in the heavens and on the earth? If three people hold a secret meeting, let them know that Allah is the fourth of them; or if they are five, Allah is surely the sixth. Whether those who hold secret meetings are fewer or more than this, and wherever they may be, Allah is surely with them. Then on the Day of Resurrection Allah will inform them of what they did. For Allah knows all things fully.

When they meet you, they greet you in a way Allah has not greeted you. And among themselves they say: "Why, then, does Allah not punish us for what we say!" Hell will settle their account. Yes, they will all be thrown into it; what an evil final destination it is!

22You will not find a people who truly believe in Allah and the Last Day cherishing heartfelt love for those who defy Allah and His Messenger, who conveys Allah's messages, even if they are their own fathers, children, brothers, or clan. For Allah has inscribed faith in their hearts and supported them with revelation from Himself. Allah will settle them in gardens beneath which rivers flow, and there they will remain. For Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Allah. It is they who are truly on Allah's side. Know well that only those on Allah's side will attain salvation and reach what they hope for.
