بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 1
1 verseAl-Munafiqun 1
اِذَا جَٓاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ قَالُوا نَشْهَدُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ اللّٰهِۢ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُۜ وَاللّٰهُ يَشْهَدُ اِنَّ الْمُنَافِق۪ينَ لَكَاذِبُونَۚ ١
Mushaf
Transliteration
1İẕâ câeke-lmünâfiḳûne ḳâlû neşhedü inneke lerasûlü-llâh. vellâhü yaʿlemü inneke lerasûlüh. vellâhü yeşhedü inne-lmünâfiḳîne lekâẕibûn.
English Translation
1When the two-faced hypocrites, who pretend to believe when they do not, come to you, they say: "We bear witness that you are indeed Allah's Messenger." Yes, Allah too knows that you are indeed His Messenger. But Allah bears witness that those two-faced people are certainly lying when they say this.

اِتَّخَذُٓوا اَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِۜ اِنَّهُمْ سَٓاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ٢
Mushaf
Transliteration
2İtteḫaẕû eymânehüm cünneten feṣaddû ʿan sebîli-llâh. innehüm sâe mâ kânû yaʿmelûn.
English Translation
2These two-faced hypocrites use their oaths as a shield, protecting themselves on the one hand while on the other turning people away from Allah's path. What wretched things they truly do!

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ اٰمَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا فَطُبِعَ عَلٰى قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ٣
Mushaf
Transliteration
3Ẕâlike biennehüm âmenû ŝümme keferû feṭubiʿa ʿalâ ḳulûbihim fehüm lâ yefḳahûn.
English Translation
3What is more, they say they have believed, yet by what they do they enter into disbelief. These two-faced people close their hearts to faith, and so they can no longer grasp the truth.

وَاِذَا رَاَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ اَجْسَامُهُمْۜ وَاِنْ يَقُولُوا تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْۜ كَاَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُسَنَّدَةٌۜ يَحْسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْۜ هُمُ الْعَدُوُّ فَاحْذَرْهُمْۜ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللّٰهُۘ اَنّٰى يُؤْفَكُونَ ٤
Mushaf
Transliteration
4Veiẕâ raeytehüm tüʿcibüke ecsâmühüm. veiy yeḳûlû tesmaʿ liḳavlihim. keennehüm ḫuşübüm müsennedeh. yaḥsebûne külle ṣayḥatin ʿaleyhim. hümü-lʿadüvvu faḥẕerhüm. ḳâtelehümü-llâh. ennâ yüʾfekûn.
English Translation
4When you look at them, their outward appearance pleases you, and if they speak, you listen to their words; but in truth they are like planks dressed in clothes. Out of doubt and fear they think every whisper is against them. They are bitter enemies; so be on your guard against them! May Allah destroy them; how they are tossed about!

وَاِذَا ق۪يلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ لَوَّوْا رُؤُ۫سَهُمْ وَرَاَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُمْ مُسْتَكْبِرُونَ ٥ سَوَٓاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ اَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ اَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْۜ لَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِق۪ينَ ٦
Mushaf
Transliteration
5Veiẕâ ḳîle lehüm teʿâlev yestagfir leküm rasûlü-llâhi levvev ruûsehüm veraeytehüm yeṣuddûne vehüm müstekbirûn.
6Sevâün ʿaleyhim estagferte lehüm em lem testagfir lehüm. ley yagfira-llâhü lehüm. inne-llâhe lâ yehdi-lḳavme-lfâsiḳîn.
English Translation
5When they are told, "Come, let Allah's Messenger ask Allah's forgiveness for you," you see them turn their heads aside and walk away in insolent arrogance.
6It makes no difference whether you ask forgiveness for them or not, for Allah will never forgive them. For Allah does not bring a people of transgressors who have strayed from the path to what they hope for.

هُمُ الَّذ۪ينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنْفِقُوا عَلٰى مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ حَتّٰى يَنْفَضُّواۜ وَلِلّٰهِ خَزَٓائِنُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَلٰكِنَّ الْمُنَافِق۪ينَ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ٧ يَقُولُونَ لَئِنْ رَجَعْنَٓا اِلَى الْمَد۪ينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْاَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْاَذَلَّۜ وَلِلّٰهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِه۪ وَلِلْمُؤْمِن۪ينَ وَلٰكِنَّ الْمُنَافِق۪ينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ۟ ٨
Mushaf
Transliteration
7Hümü-lleẕîne yeḳûlûne lâ tünfiḳû ʿalâ men ʿinde rasûli-llâhi ḥattâ yenfeḍḍû. velillâhi ḫazâinü-ssemâvâti velʾarḍi velâkinne-lmünâfiḳîne lâ yefḳahûn.
8Yeḳûlûne leir racaʿnâ ile-lmedîneti leyuḫricenne-lʾeʿazzü minhe-lʾeẕell. velillâhi-lʿizzetü velirasûlihî velilmüʾminîne velâkinne-lmünâfiḳîne lâ yaʿlemûn.
English Translation
7They say to the people of Medina: "Do not help those around Allah's Messenger, so that they will disperse." Yet all the treasuries/sources of provision of the heavens and the earth belong to Allah; but these two-faced hypocrites cannot grasp this.
8And they say: "When we return to Medina, we, the powerful and honored, will drive out from there the weak and powerless emigrants." Yet true might and honor belong to Allah, to His Messenger who conveys Allah's messages, and to the believers. But these two-faced hypocrites do not know this.
Verse 9
1 verseAl-Munafiqun 9
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَٓا اَوْلَادُكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللّٰهِۚ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ ٩
Mushaf
Transliteration
9Yâ eyyühe-lleẕîne âmenû lâ tülhiküm emvâlüküm velâ evlâdüküm ʿan ẕikri-llâh. vemey yefʿal ẕâlike feülâike hümü-lḫâsirûn.
English Translation
9O you who believe! Let not your wealth and property, your family and children, distract you from the remembrance of Allah; whoever does so, it is they who are the losers.

وَاَنْفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَاْتِيَ اَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَٓا اَخَّرْتَن۪ٓي اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ قَر۪يبٍۙ فَاَصَّدَّقَ وَاَكُنْ مِنَ الصَّالِح۪ينَ ١٠ وَلَنْ يُؤَخِّرَ اللّٰهُ نَفْسًا اِذَا جَٓاءَ اَجَلُهَاۜ وَاللّٰهُ خَب۪يرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ١١
Mushaf
Transliteration
10Veenfiḳû mimmâ razaḳnâküm min ḳabli ey yeʾtiye eḥadekümü-lmevtü feyeḳûle rabbi levlâ eḫḫartenî ilâ ecelin ḳarîbin feeṣṣaddeḳa veeküm mine-ṣṣâliḥîn.
11Veley yüʾeḫḫira-llâhü nefsen iẕâ câe ecelühâ. vellâhü ḫabîrum bimâ taʿmelûn.
English Translation
10Spend in Allah's way from the wealth and property We have given you, before that day comes when death comes to one of you and you will say: "My Lord, if only You would grant me a little more time, I would give in charity and do good, and so be among the good."
11For when death comes to a person, Allah never postpones his appointed term. Know well that Allah is aware of all that you do.
