اِنَّا عَرَضْنَا الْاَمَانَةَ عَلَى السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَالْجِبَالِ فَاَبَيْنَ اَنْ يَحْمِلْنَهَا وَاَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا وَحَمَلَهَا الْاِنْسَانُۜ اِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًاۙ ٧٢
Mushaf
Transliteration
72İnnâ ʿaraḍne-lʾemânete ʿale-ssemâvâti velʾarḍi velcibâli feebeynâ ey yaḥmilnehâ veeşfaḳne minhâ veḥamelehe-lʾinsân. innehû kâne żalûmen cehûlâ.
English Translation
72We offered the trust (will and responsibility) to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, but they shrank from taking on the trust, fearing that they could not do justice to this responsibility; and the human being took on the trust. He acted wrongfully and ignorantly.
