English Translation
39Or is there an oath, a guarantee binding on Us until the Resurrection, that whatever you decide will be yours?
Explanatory translation
39What is the reason for this arbitrariness? Or is it written in that scripture, “Every ruling you make is your legitimate right; you are authorized to make every kind of decision”? Have you received from Us a promise, given to you under oath and valid until the Day of Resurrection, saying, “You may judge however you like and in your own interest”? Is that why you judge as you please?
