2You are not someone inspired by the jinn; rather, you are one upon whom your Lord has bestowed His blessing.

Explanatory translation

Explanatory translation

2You are one on whom your Lord has bestowed prophethood, and, through every kind of blessing your Lord has given you, you are the last prophet, the one who takes humanity’s greatest concern to heart. Through this blessing of prophethood, and the Quran is witness to it, you are not, as the disbelievers claim, possessed by jinn, nor are you a poet. Pay no attention when, because you criticize the system of life of those who deny the truth and rise up against them, they say, “Are you out of your mind? Would we ever let you change our way of life?” They do not know that you have been equipped with knowledge by your Lord. Your Lord chose you from among them and honored you with messengership. In the face of the truths you explained to them, all they could say was, “He is possessed by jinn!”
