بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 26–27

ثُمَّ قَفَّيْنَا عَلٰٓى اٰثَارِهِمْ بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيْنَا بِع۪يسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَاٰتَيْنَاهُ الْاِنْج۪يلَ وَجَعَلْنَا ف۪ي قُلُوبِ الَّذ۪ينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ رَاْفَةً وَرَحْمَةًۜ وَرَهْبَانِيَّةًۨ ابْتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبْنَاهَا عَلَيْهِمْ اِلَّا ابْتِغَٓاءَ رِضْوَانِ اللّٰهِ فَمَا رَعَوْهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَاۚ فَاٰتَيْنَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا مِنْهُمْ اَجْرَهُمْۚ وَكَث۪يرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ ٢٧
Mushaf
Transliteration
27Ŝümme ḳaffeynâ ʿalâ âŝârihim birusülinâ veḳaffeynâ biʿîse-bni meryeme veâteynâhü-lʾincîle veceʿalnâ fî ḳulûbi-lleẕîne-ttebeʿûhü raʾfetev veraḥmeh. verahbâniyyeten-btedeʿûhâ mâ ketebnâhâ ʿaleyhim ille-btigâe riḍvâni-llâhi femâ raʿavhâ ḥaḳḳa riʿâyetihâ. feâteyne-lleẕîne âmenû minhüm ecrahüm. vekeŝîrum minhüm fâsiḳûn.
English Translation
27Then We sent Our messengers one after another in their footsteps. After them We sent Jesus son of Mary and gave him the Gospel, and We placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. But monasticism they invented themselves to win Allah's good pleasure, though We had not commanded it; and they did not fulfill even its requirements. We gave those of them who believed their reward, but most of them strayed from the path and became transgressors.
