قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلّ۪ينَۙ ٤٣
Mushaf
Transliteration
43Ḳâlû lem nekü mine-lmüṣallîn.
English Translation
43—We had cut our bond with Allah and would not perform the prayer.
Explanatory translation
43They will answer: “We would not follow Allah’s call, and we were not among those who performed the prayer. We were not among those who take refuge in Allah and worship Him, or who follow the Prophet. Nor did we keep the promises we made to our Lord in Surah al-Fatihah, which we used to recite.”
