بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 5–9
5 versesAl-Hashr 7
مَٓا اَفَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى رَسُولِه۪ مِنْ اَهْلِ الْقُرٰى فَلِلّٰهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي الْقُرْبٰى وَالْيَتَامٰى وَالْمَسَاك۪ينِ وَابْنِ السَّب۪يلِۙ كَيْ لَا يَكُونَ دُولَةً بَيْنَ الْاَغْنِيَٓاءِ مِنْكُمْۜ وَمَٓا اٰتٰيكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهٰيكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُواۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَد۪يدُ الْعِقَابِۢ ٧
Mushaf
Transliteration
7Mâ efâe-llâhü ʿalâ rasûlihî min ehli-lḳurâ felillâhi velirrasûli veliẕi-lḳurbâ velyetâmâ velmesâkîni vebni-ssebîli key lâ yekûne dûletem beyne-lʾagniyâi minküm. vemâ âtâkümü-rrasûlü feḫuẕûhü vemâ nehâküm ʿanhü fentehû. vetteḳu-llâh. inne-llâhe şedîdü-lʿiḳâb.
English Translation
7The spoils that Allah has given to His Messenger from the property of the people of towns taken without fighting belong by right to Allah, His Messenger, his relatives, the orphans, the poor, and stranded travelers. This is so that wealth does not become a means of power and authority that merely circulates among the rich among you. So take whatever the Messenger gives you of these spoils, and refrain from asking for what he does not give. Guard yourselves against defying Allah, for Allah's punishment is very severe.
