English Translation
14True prayer is the prayer made to Allah alone. Those whom they place between themselves and Allah and implore in prayer cannot answer them in any way. Their case is just like that of one who stretches out his hands, opening his palms toward water so that it may reach his mouth; yet it will never reach him. So the prayer of these disbelievers is empty and futile.
