بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 14–16
3 versesAl-Fath 16
قُلْ لِلْمُخَلَّف۪ينَ مِنَ الْاَعْرَابِ سَتُدْعَوْنَ اِلٰى قَوْمٍ اُو۬ل۪ي بَاْسٍ شَد۪يدٍ تُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ اَوْ يُسْلِمُونَۚ فَاِنْ تُط۪يعُوا يُؤْتِكُمُ اللّٰهُ اَجْرًا حَسَنًاۚ وَاِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا كَمَا تَوَلَّيْتُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا اَل۪يمًا ١٦
Mushaf
Transliteration
16Ḳul lilmüḫallefîne mine-lʾaʿrâbi setüdʿavne ilâ ḳavmin ülî beʾsin şedîdin tüḳâtilûnehüm ev yüslimûn. fein tüṭîʿû yüʾtikümü-llâhü ecran ḥasenâ. vein tetevellev kemâ tevelleytüm min ḳablü yüʿaẕẕibküm ʿaẕâben elîmâ.
English Translation
16Say to those Bedouin Arabs who did not join the campaign: —Very soon you will be called to fight against a people of great might; either you will fight them to the end, or they will surrender. If you answer this call, Allah will give you a fine reward. But if you turn away again, as you did before, know that Allah will punish you with a painful punishment.
