بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 36–38
3 versesMuhammad 38
هَٓا اَنْتُمْ هٰٓؤُ۬لَٓاءِ تُدْعَوْنَ لِتُنْفِقُوا ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِۚ فَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يَبْخَلُۚ وَمَنْ يَبْخَلْ فَاِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَنْ نَفْسِه۪ۜ وَاللّٰهُ الْغَنِيُّ وَاَنْتُمُ الْفُقَرَٓاءُۚ وَاِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْۙ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُٓوا اَمْثَالَكُمْ ٣٨
Mushaf
Transliteration
38Hâentüm hâülâi tüdʿavne litünfiḳû fî sebîli-llâh. feminküm mey yebḫal. vemey yebḫal feinnemâ yebḫalü ʿan nefsih. vellâhü-lganiyyü veentümü-lfüḳarâʾ. vein tetevellev yestebdil ḳavmen gayraküm ŝümme lâ yekûnû emŝâleküm.
English Translation
38Now you are being called to spend for jihad in Allah's way. Some among you are being stingy. Whoever is stingy, let him know well that it is to his own detriment. Besides, Allah has no need of your wealth and property; on the contrary, it is you who depend on Him for all your needs. If you turn away from Allah's commands, He will bring another people in your place, and they will not be like you.
