Verses 1–5
Woe to those who reject the call of Allah, who created the universe and the human being and endowed the world with so many blessings for humankind. Such people race one another, panting, in their hostility toward the believers; raising clouds of dust, they spend the night in malice and hatred and turn to aggression in the mornings; to keep people from coming to know the divine system to which they are invited, they muddy the waters and confuse people’s minds, and they imagine that in this way they can keep their own system standing. We swear that We will call them to account.
