بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerse 42
1 verseAz-Zumar 42
اَللّٰهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْاَنْفُسَ ح۪ينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّت۪ي لَمْ تَمُتْ ف۪ي مَنَامِهَاۚ فَيُمْسِكُ الَّت۪ي قَضٰى عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْاُخْرٰٓى اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُسَمًّىۜ اِنَّ ف۪ي ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ٤٢
Mushaf
Transliteration
42Allâhü yeteveffe-lʾenfüse ḥîne mevtihâ velletî lem temüt fî menâmihâ. feyümsikü-lletî ḳaḍâ ʿaleyhe-lmevte veyürsilü-lʾuḫrâ ilâ ecelim müsemmâ. inne fî ẕâlike leâyâtil liḳavmiy yetefekkerûn.
English Translation
42Allah takes each person at the moment of death, taking away his consciousness, and also takes those who have not yet died, in their sleep. He holds back the consciousness of those for whom death has been decreed, and releases the others until their death comes. In this there are many lessons for a people who can reflect deeply.
