At-Talaq 1

1O Prophet! When you wish to divorce women, divorce them taking their menstrual cycles into account, reckon their waiting periods (iddah) carefully, and guard yourselves against defying Allah, your Lord. Do not turn your wives who are observing their waiting period out of your houses unless they commit an open indecency, nor should they leave their homes. These are the limits Allah has set. Whoever transgresses the limits Allah has set has wronged himself. And how can you know? Perhaps after this Allah may bring about some new developments.
