Verses 1–7

O Prophet! On the Day of Resurrection, of which you have been told, which will envelop everything, some people, their faces bowed to the ground in fear, humiliated and exhausted, will be cast into that scorching fire of Hell. There they will drink boiling water, and their food will be a poisonous thorn. What they eat and drink will relieve neither their hunger nor their thirst.

Verses 8–16

And on that day the faces of those who grasped the purpose of their creation and strove to live in keeping with it will shine with joy and happiness; they will see the reward for believing and doing righteous deeds and savor its delight. In Paradise, seated on thrones in the lofty stations prepared for them, they will receive food of indescribable delight and drinks in spotless pitchers whose taste one never tires of; and on their thrones, upon carpets that fill beholders with admiration, reclining on their cushions, they will converse with one another, and there they will hear no idle talk.

Verses 17–20

Do people never reflect on the camel, which We created to serve them, and on the wisdom in its creation, so well suited to its conditions? Let them raise their heads and look at the sky, and see how We raised it high, how We created the sun, the moon, and the stars, and their flawless motions bound to the perfect order and laws We have established; and then let them turn their heads to the order on the earth, to what We have created there for the human being, and to how and why We set the mountains so firmly in place, so that they may see and understand the worth Allah gives the human being, and His knowledge and power.

Verses 21–26

O Prophet! Counsel and warn people, reminding them of these plain truths so that they may grasp Allah as He deserves. Do not forget that you are only a caller who warns by giving counsel. It is not for you to decide by force on whose side people will cast their choice. Whoever, despite what is made known by these proofs and despite the call, turns away from living an Allah-centered life and chooses to associate partners with Allah and deny the truth, Allah will punish with the most severe punishment.

Without doubt every person will in the end be brought into Our presence to give account for his choices and receive the recompense he deserves.
