بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most MercifulVerses 23–25
3 versesAl-Mu'minun 24
فَقَالَ الْمَلَؤُ۬ا الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِه۪ مَا هٰذَٓا اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْۙ يُر۪يدُ اَنْ يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْۜ وَلَوْ شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ لَاَنْزَلَ مَلٰٓئِكَةًۚ مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهٰذَا ف۪ٓي اٰبَٓائِنَا الْاَوَّل۪ينَۚ ٢٤
Mushaf
Transliteration
24Feḳâle-lmeleü-lleẕîne keferû min ḳavmihî mâ hâẕâ illâ beşerum miŝlüküm yürîdü ey yetefeḍḍale ʿaleyküm. velev şâe-llâhü leenzele melâikeh. mâ semiʿnâ bihâẕâ fî âbâine-lʾevvelîn.
English Translation
24The disbelievers among the elite of his people said: —This is nothing but a human being like you. Clearly he wants to set himself above us. Had Allah wished to send a messenger, He would have sent angels. Besides, we have never heard of such a thing from our forefathers of old.
