O Prophet! In the face of the shirk (associating partners with Allah) and disbelief of the society you lived in, your breast had grown constricted with distress, and the deep anguish you bore as you searched for the purpose of the existence of humankind and the universe had all but bent your back. Through Our verses We expanded your heart and brought you relief, and We lifted from you the burden of the unanswered questions that were gnawing at your mind.
